He was born on September 3, 1946, in Monahan’s, TX to Roscoe Franklin and Thelma Elizabeth (Turner) Dowdy. Frank married Floydene (Flo) Walker on March 7, 1974, and they shared 50 wonderful years together. Frank was a Vietnam veteran that served in the Air Force, he loved telling stories from his military days. Frank was a Drilling Superintendent for ExxonMobil for 25 years. He was a hard-working man that enjoyed spending time with his family, collecting guns, and going to the shooting range.
Frank is survived by his wife: Flo Dowdy of Midland, TX; daughters: Jamie Smith and husband Darrel of Richmond, TX, and Alicia Dowdy of Midland, TX; grandchildren: Hunter Smith, Carson Smith, and Cody Dowdy; One sister, Judy Sargent and one brother Darrell Dowdy and wife Daisy.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Roscoe and Thelma Dowdy.
A graveside for Gayle will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Ellis Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 4616 N Big Spring Street, Midland, Texas 79705.
