

Born in Austin, Texas, on April 9, 1957, Ed developed a love for mechanics and engineering early in life. He proudly served in the Marines and had a passionate connection to his military associations. An avid motorcycle builder and racing fanatic, Ed held records in the 1990's for the "fastest" motorcycles on tracks around West Texas and beyond. His love for fast cars and talent for modifying or improving anything with wheels was well-known among his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Erskine of Midland, TX; son, William Lee Erskine of Canyon City, CO; his mother Ruth McEntire and husband, Lee Caldwell of Abilene, TX; sister Martha Elliott and husband Mike Mabrey of Friendswood, TX; brother Cliff Caldwell and wife, Lauren of Sterling City, TX; brother, Andrew Caldwell of Abilene, TX; niece, Megan Mabrey, and husband, Graeme Boothe of Pembroke Pines, FL; nephew Josh Mabrey of Friendswood, TX; niece Caroline, and husband Elijah Sheets of NYC, NY; nephew, Guy Caldwell, and wife, Sydney of Ft. Worth, TX; nieces Emma and Cora Caldwell of Nashville, TN; nephew, Tye, and niece Sophia Caldwell of Sterling City, TX.
Ed was preceded in death by his father, William Erskine.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Chay Exton of Visiting Angels and the Irvin Hernandez of Interim Hospice for their loving and attentive care.
Graveside services will be held at Ellis Resthaven Memorial Park on March 26 at 11:00 am.
