

Mr. Lusk was born January 26, 1934, in Dickens, Texas to the late Odis Lafayette Lusk and Juanita Faye Hague Lusk McConnell. His late grandparents were William Lafette Lusk and Theodosia Jane Thannisch Lusk and William (Bill) Houston Hague and Sallie May Butler Hague.
He attended school in Plains, Texas, graduating there in 1953. He played center on the varsity football team for 4 years and was captain of the team his senior year. There he met his soul mate and wife, Cleva Joyce Young, and was married in Lovington, New Mexico, at the First Christian Church on June 2, 1953.
Mr. Lusk lived in Plains until 1954 until he joined the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and was stationed in Salina, Kansas and London, England. He left his last unit, the 49th Bomber Squadron (SAC) and was given an honorable discharge to the Air Force reserves in 1958 after achieving the rank of Staff Sargent. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He then moved with his family to Midland, Texas. In Midland he worked for Texas Electric Service Company, later Texas Utilities in which he retired from in 1992 after 34 years of service as a lineman and engineer.
He was a faithful Christian and longtime member of the Westside Church of Christ in Midland.
Known as “Dandy” to all of his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, he deeply loved his family and spent as much time as he could with them. He was also an avid woodworker, clock maker and genealogist. He also loved to travel with Cleva in their camper and meet up with family and friends and play dominos or cards.
Mr. Lusk is preceded in death by his wife, Cleva, his parents and two sisters, Billy Faye and Marguerite Ann Lusk.
Mr. Lusk is survived by his three children, Sherrie Joyce Lusk Ponder and husband Bob of Longview, Texas, Terrie Anne Lusk Colley and husband David of Red Oak, Texas and son Harvey Hague Lusk, Jr and wife Debbie of Hickory Creek, Texas, 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandsons, 2 great-granddaughters; two brothers, Anthony (Tony) Lusk and wife Pat of Midland, Texas and David Lusk of Lubbock and two sisters, Laverne Lusk Newsom of Plains, Texas and Dosia Lusk Bryant and husband Robert (Bob) of Rogers, Arkansas and number of nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harvey (Trey) Hague Lusk, III, Lance Medford, Nick Bazaldua and Eric Milligan.
Family will receive friends on Friday, June 14 at Ellis Funeral Home between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00pm. Funeral service will be held at West Side Church of Christ on Saturday, June 15 at 10:00am. Burial will be held at 2:30pm in Plains, Texas at Plains Cemetery on Saturday as well.
