Iris Bradley Franks

She moved with her family from the Davis Mountains areas to the Midland County when she was approximately 8 years old. Iris was raised on the farm of the Prairie Lee/Greenwood area of Midland County. She was married to Joseph Hoss Franks in Lea County, New Mexico on May 26, 1934. It was a double wedding with two of their best friends – Troy and Alma Matlock.

She was predeceased by husband, J. H. Franks; son, Fred Franks; granddaughter, Babsy Franks; grandson, Bubba Traweek; son-in-law, Cecil Traweek; and two brothers, Jake Bradley and Al Bradley.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Traweek; daughter-in-law, Juanell Caldwell; son, Don and wife, Mary Franks; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Greenwood Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Hines officiating at 10:00am on Saturday, March 17, 2012 with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Condolences may be made at: www.ellisfunerals.com.
