Iva Nell Sparks

Nell was born January 17, 1928 in Mason, Texas to Kizzie Ferguson Holt and Mack Holt. She was raised on the farm at Fredonia, Texas with her five sisters and one brother. She worked at Sears and Roebuck as a PBX operator until her retirement.

After retirement and marriage to Holden Sparks, they lived on their farm in Greenwood with the animals and the garden she loved so much. Nell was a country girl who loved country music, especially Ray Price. She and Holden attended many dances at the Senior Center and at the American Legion. She also loved Hereford cattle, as that is what her family raised as a child. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren inherited that love from her. Nell attended many stock shows watching them show.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and one brother who died at birth.

Nell is survived by her husband Holden; daughter Renee Fox; son Jimmy Bankston, one brother, two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and four step children.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Reverend Bob Porterfield officiating.
