Jackie Arlene Smedley

Arlene was born October 22, 1941, in Cortez, Colorado to Frances M. Chamblee and Dorothy D. Chamblee. Arlene married Danny Lee Smedley January 15, 1960. Danny and Arlene shared 49 years of blissful marriage

Arlene is survived by her sister, Sue and husband Jerry Dossey of Lubbock, Texas. Her three children, daughter Dannetta and husband Mark Perkins, son Ron and wife Karen Smedley, and son Danny and wife Grace Smedley, all of Midland, Texas.

Arlene was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was blessed with two granddaughters, six grandsons, eleven and half great grandsons, nine great granddaughters, and numerous nieces, nephews and dozens and dozens extended family members.

Arlene is preceded in death by her husband Danny L. Smedley, parents Frances and Dorothy Chamblee, and sister, June Womack.

We will miss her kind heart, infectious giggle, unconditional love for all of us, and we will carry her in our hearts forever.

A public visitation for Jackie will be held Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ellis Funeral Home, 801 Andrews Hwy, Midland, Texas 79701. A funeral service will occur Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM, 801 Andrews Hwy, Midland, Texas 79701. A burial/ graveside service will occur Friday, March 25, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Serenity Memorial Cemetery, 6800 S. Tx-349, Midland, Texas 79706.
