On March 15, 2024, Jackie Flournoy, devoted wife and mother, 84 years old, returned to her heavenly home with her family at her side. Born Sept 10, 1939, in Monahans, TX to Leona & Jack Shumate.
Jackie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for almost 50 years holding several offices, usually teaching children. Her passion in life was being a mother and taking care of children. In her 20s, she was a bowler and received numerous trophies from tournaments including mixed doubles with her husband. As a child, she rode horses with her grandfather and parents. Genealogy was another one of her passions for 50 years and she was an amazing detective back in the days of library microfilm/fish.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 60 years, Thomas Olen Flournoy; her sister Margret Kingston; 2 babies, Burton Thomas & William Nolen; son, Burton William; grandson, Bryce Hunter Nettles; grandson, Roy Alex Geisendorff.
She is survived by her sister Lisa Stewart, Monahans; son Don and wife Maria Flournoy, Midland; son Mark Flournoy, Paint Rock, TX; daughter Tiffany and husband Michael Riner, Sealy TX; daughter Cassie and husband James Gerety, Midland, and son Randall and wife Kristi Flournoy, Midland. Grandchildren Dawn Flournoy, David Sigel, William Flournoy, Paul Flournoy, Carrie Smith, Christon Flournoy, Victoria Herig, Caylie Dukes, Julia-Renee Nettles, Lyn Sellers, Rilea Flournoy, Barrett Flournoy and bonus granddaughter Khush Shrestha. 17 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren.
A visitation for Jacquelyn will be held Friday, March 22, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ellis Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 4616 N Big Spring Street, Midland, Texas 79705. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2101 Tarleton St, Midland, Texas 79707. A burial will occur Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 12:00 PM, 4616 N Big Spring Street, Midland, Texas 79705.
