Al was born in Poolville, Texas on June 19, 1930, to Charles and Lona Welborn.
Al married Norma Dobbs on June 9, 1969. Al retired from DOTCO after 30 years as a tool pusher. He enjoyed fishing, stock trading and his dogs.
Al is preceded in death by his, parents, and a brother.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; three sisters, Katherine, Betty, and Verleen; numerous grand children and great grand children, as well as other family and friends.
A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday February 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Westside Church of Christ 4410 W. Illinois Ave., Midland, Texas. Mike Vestal will be officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas.
