08/26/1954-06/23/2026
With heavy hearts and immense gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Mark Bright, who left this world peacefully on 6/23/26 at the age of 71.
Mark was a man who loved deeply, worked hard, and always put his family first. He was the kind of father who taught by example showing us the value of dedication, resilience, and unconditional love. Whether through his quiet strength, his sense of humor, or the countless ways he cared for those around him, he left an impact that will remain with us forever.
Mark was a hard-working man, who could fix anything. He loved to hunt, loved collecting guns, riding his Harley, and watching his grandkids play sports. He had a determined spirit and a stubborn streak that those who knew him loved and understood well.
In recent years, Mark faced Alzheimer's disease with courage and grace. While the journey was often difficult, it also gave our family precious opportunities to care for him as he had always cared for us. We will forever treasure the hugs, the moments of connection, and the privilege of walking beside him through the final chapter of his life.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda, his daughter and son-in-law, Nikki and Carl Wade of Midland, daughter and son-in-law Miranda and Albert Pedroza of Dallas, son and daughter in law Jamie and Isabel Bright of Midland, and son-in-law Jason Perry of Midland; his grandchildren whom he loved dearly: Stetson, Tyler and Madison Wade, Jaylee and Jayden Perry, Jacob Bright and Anthony and Jayden Pedroza, brother Larry Bright, sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Mike Popelka, and many other family members and friends who will miss him deeply.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father Wanda and Pete Bright, his mother and father-in-law Sandra and Wesley Shrum, his daughter Brittany, and his grandson Lucas Bright.
While we grieve his loss, we find comfort in knowing that his struggles have ended and that his legacy lives on through the family he loved so fiercely. His lessons, his laughter, and his love will remain with us always.
A service to celebrate Dad's life will be held on June 27th at 10am at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported Dad and our family throughout his illness, and especially to Amanda, his hospice nurse who helped care for him during his final days.
Dad, thank you for everything. We love you, we miss you, and we will carry you with us forever.
