James was raised in Artesia, New Mexico and served in the U.S. Navy as a Torpedo Pilot in World War II, he was awarded the Navy Cross at Midway. He graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1946. Jim was an oil and gas consultant after being the Investigation Officer for three years on the Midland Police Department.
Jim and his wife Louise have resided in Colorado City since 1977. He is survived by three children, Donna Hunsinger of Auburn, Georgia, Terry Hudson of Biloxi, Mississippi, and Barry Hudson of Granbury, Texas; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Helen Dyer in 1977.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Ellis Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Resthaven Memorial Park.
