Jim Lunday passed away on January 3, 2014. He was born on December 17, 1930 to his parents, George Spivie Lunday and Jennie Belle Lunday in Dallas, TX. He married Geleska Showers in May 1953.
He attended Idabel OK High School and Eastern A&M in Wilburton OK. He then moved to Dallas, TX and worked for the Franklin Stores Corp.
Jim served with the 547th Armored Field Artillery Battalion in Ft. Knox, KY. Upon completion of his army service, he attended the University of Oklahoma graduating in 1957 with a BS in Petroleum Engineering.
He worked for Texaco for 20 years, and then founded Paragon Oil and later went on to consult for several independents including Pogo.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Geleska Lunday of Midland, his daughter, Sherry Alfie and Abe of Midland, and son, Kevin Lunday of Houston.
He is preceded in death by his parents George & Jennie Lunday and his brother George Douglas Lunday.
Private Graveside services were held.
