Jarrod Barton Cooley

Jarrod was born on March 18, 1981 in Midland, Texas to Janie and Jim Cooley. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1999 and from Hardin Simmons University in 2003. Jarrod was a member of the Mighty Rebel Band and the Hardin Simmons Cowboy Band, where he served as president in 2002. As a teenager, Jarrod was active in Pick Wicks and, after returning to Midland, renewed that interest by becoming involved with MCT.

Jarrod is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joyce and SJ Cooley, and Jo and Johnnie Burns. He is survived by his parents, brother, Nathan and sister-in-law Kim, and many family members and countless friends.

Jarrod was a talented, sweet and smart young man. Having a conversation with him could challenge your view. He could take what you thought, hoped, dreamed and believed to the next level.

Visitation will be held at Ellis Funeral Home in Midland on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Crestview Baptist Church with Christopher Etheredge officiating.
