Jeff Weldon Rawls Jr.

Jeff was born on February 4, 1939 in Ranger, Texas to Jeff W. Rawls, Sr. and Helen Ruth Yung Rawls.

He has resided in Midland since he was 10 years old. He graduated from Midland High School in 1957 and was a proud Bulldog. He also attended Odessa Junior College.

He enjoyed watching sports on television and was an avid University of Texas Longhorn and Dallas Cowboy fan. He enjoyed many years of playing golf and playing in golf tournaments with friends.

He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2006 after 16 years of service due to health problems.

Jeff was a proud United States Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years Mary of Midland, Texas; his children, son Jeff W. Rawls III, daughters, Joni Thompson, Helen Schumacher, Charlee Dunn and DeAngela Callison; stepchildren Larry Tidwell, Mike Tidwell and Sherry Roberts; sister, Bekki Welch; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jeff W. Rawls, Sr. and Helen and Jack Maier; sister, Barbara Atchison; nephew Chuck Price and stepson Terry Tidwell.

The family of Jeff Rawls would like to thank Dr. P.K. Patel, Dr. David Watkins, the staff of Texas Oncology, Nurs EX Home Healthcare Services, Ashton Medical Lodge, Hospice of Midland, caregivers, friends and family who showed compassion and concern during this difficult time.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Ellis Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park at 3 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017 with Reverend Clark Racca officiating.
