His grandchildren, JT, Hannah, Sarah, Gabe, Alyssa, Jesse Noel, Micah, Ben, Baldito, Breanna, Lupita, Sergio, Annalea and Marina were his pride and joy.
Jesse is survived by one brother, three sisters and their spouses: Ramon (Anita) Valles of Midland, TX, Janie (Carlos) Equiniones of Midland, TX, Brenda (Daniel) Sanchez of Grand Prairie, TX and Esmeralda Valles of Midland, Texas; and many nephews, nieces, and family members will miss him dearly.
Jesse is preceded in death by father, Jesus Valles, mother, Antonia Yharte Valles, grandson, Jesse Noel Valles, sister, Teresa Torres and niece, Jennifer Michelle Sanchez.
Jesse took on the responsibility of his Mother and siblings at an early age and went to work at B&W groceries. He continued to keep an eye on his siblings and mom. Jesse always showed so much compassion and love for his little sisters and younger brother
Jesse found the love of his life at an early age and married his sweetheart Sela on Jan 1, 1966. This beautiful couple celebrated their 54th anniversary this year. They began a family and now have 4 children and 14 grandchildren. His love for them was always a constant. He was so proud of each one individually. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye. In their golden years, Jesse and Sela took on the responsibility of raising 6 of them.
Jesse knew many people in Midland and had a big heart and was always willing to help if he could. He was very active in Gods service by worshiping at Midland Latin Free Methodist Church and raising his children in the church. He later accepted Jesus as his savior and followed by becoming the Pastor for over 35 years. Early in his ministry, he served in the Texas Conference for the Free Methodist Church. Jesse loved his congregation and touched many lives with every sermon that God entrusted to him. He loved Gods service and helped his cousin Frank run a soup kitchen from the church. He would go to the Southside of Midland and pick up the homeless and bring them so that they could have a warm meal. For a brief time his street ministry touched the people in the barrio where he ministered.
Many people in Midland know who Jesse Valles is. Some he officiated their marriage and by the grace of God some he performed their funerals. Many children were baptized and many young people found Jesus through his service to God. Everything Jesse did for Gods service was done with so much compassion and love. Many will say that he was their mentor and their friend.
Jesse’s love for music and his love for singing brought him into Gods presence with his beautiful Alto voice, worship was his favorite time of the service as he would close his eyes and find himself immersed by the Holy Spirit.
Graveside services will be Friday, November 13, 2020 at 11 AM at Resthaven Memorial Park. Eddie Galan, Richard Galan, Johnny Galan, and Jeff Vidal are honorary pallbearers.
