I taught in the same school with and lived a year with John while in the Peace Corps in Ethiopia.  He was truly the character of our house of six guys; full of daily surprises.  I will miss his broad smile and devilish nature from those days so long ago that shaped each one of us in our youth.  Danny

I met John in 1964.  He had just returned from service with the Peace Corps in Ethiopia.  He was brilliant, idealistic, and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of his students at MHS where we were both first year teachers. He was simply a good man who cared for others.  My prayers and thoughts are with his family who will hold his memory dear for the rest of their lives. I take comfort in knowing that his years with Cindy and her son were among the happiest of his life.

We are very sorry for your loss. John was a great neighbor and gardener. May your fond memories comfort you in this time of sorrow.
