To the John Davidson family and John's wife, Freda! On behalf of the Midland Retired Firefighters, we offer our deepest condolences and were devastated to hear of John's passing. You have lost a father and husband, we lost a brother. John was so special to those of us who worked with him and his legacy extended beyond his service to Midland and the community. If we can ever be of assistance in any way, please call us. God bless you all with His comfort and knowing John is in a far better place for all eternity.

I am so sorry to hear of John's passing.  What a great guy!!!! I cannot tell you how much all of us who worked with John in the Midland College Health Sciences Department enjoyed his company--always upbeat and always committed to the department and to his students.   He played a huge part in our Midland College family and today there are so many very talented EMTs/paramedics who learned from John's expertise.  I regret that prior commitments did not allow me to attend his service; however, I was with you in spirit during that time.  He was rare and he will be missed.  My sympathy to his family.

A devastating loss of my brother!  I clearly remember the day my mom and dad brought him home from the hospital in dad's black and white patrol car in Georgetown, Texas.  A rare ice storm had set in and hospital beds were needed and Dad had to go out on patrol, so Mom and John were sent home early!  Although I will miss him terribly, I am comforted with the assurance that he knew Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour and is safely in Heaven with our Mom, Dad and sister.  My heart is heavy for his wife, Freda and his children-Tiffany, Jodi, Tressie and Cassie Jo.  God bless you all! Thank you to his pastor for a wonderful service and the Midland Fire Department for their part in honoring John as well as the Odessa VFW for providing the veteran's service, and to John's close friend for playing bagpipes!! And to the many family members and friends who braved the cold to show their respects and memories of John...Thank you!!

Sorry about your loss. Although John and I were cousins I didn't know him well but from what i'm reading he was a good guy and Christian.

John will always hold a special place in my family's heart because of his love for my dad. Staying up with me in the hospital night after night. I love that man!

John worked with my Dad at MFD station 6 for a period of time. I remember Dad saying he was a great hand and was a good guy.

I really learned a lot from John while obtaining my EMT in 1987. John had a great compassion for people and a great calling to help people. He was truly a professional and expert in the field of paramedicine.  His presence, professionalism, and compassion are a great led to all.

I will always remember John for the kindness he showed to my parents when my Dad was ill with Alzheimer's.  There weren't many resources at that time for my Mom to get help.  John would come over and spend time with Dad and give Mom some much needed rest from her caregiver duties.  He was so good to them and when Dad passed away, John sang the most beautiful song at his funeral.  Truly a kind and loving soul.  I imagine he and Dad are going for one of their walks right now.

My condolences to the family! May god rest his soul so he may find everlasting peace.
