

Jonathan grew up in Midland, Texas, where he graduated from Lee High School in 2019. Known for his strong spirit and loyalty to those he loved, he carried those qualities into his service as a proud member of the United States Army. His time in the military reflected his dedication, courage, and commitment to something greater than himself. Jonathan was also a powerful Red Raider, attending Texas Tech University, where he majored in Natural Wildlife Management.
Jonathan is survived by his loving parents, Brent and Trisha Lightfoot; his brothers, Trek and Caden Lightfoot; and his sister, Megan Lea Lightfoot. He is also survived by his grandparents, Wade and Teresa Bryant, Dannye Lightfoot, and his great-grandfather, Maynard Bryant; his aunts and uncles, Chris and Shannon Bryant, Skip and Crysten Hopkins, Amanda and Justin Wenger, and Mauri and Jason Hopper, and Mitch and Katie Bryant and his beloved, Kelli Borel, who loved him dearly and whom he adored. He also leaves behind many extended relatives and close friends who will cherish his memory.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clifford Lightfoot; his aunt, Stephanie Lightfoot; and his aunt and cousin, Megan and Kendall Bryant. Jonathan will be laid to rest next to his dear Great Grandmother, Pearlene Bryant.
He will be remembered for his resilience, his sense of duty, and his amazing hugs that left you knowing you were loved, as well as the deep love he had for his family and friends. Above all, Jonathan loved the Lord and carried his faith with him. We find peace in knowing that he was a child of the King, and that his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wyatt Lauhoff, Marshall Mills, Seger Hammond, Bryson Murry, Brock Murry, Britton Murry, Greg Rodriguez, Zac Dwyer, Ethan Wood, and Ervey Catano.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Bryant, Chris Bryant, Tyler Bryant, Trek Lightfoot, Caden Lightfoot, Tristan Ruiz, Nathan Valles, and Hayden Johnson.

A gathering of Friends and Family will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, May 1, 2026, at Ellis-Resthaven Funeral Home in Midland. A Chapel Service will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Ellis-Resthaven Funeral Home in Midland with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
