Jose is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Anita Salgado. The two met in Floresville, Texas, on July 1, 1978, and were united in marriage on August 5, 1985—a love story built on laughter, loyalty, and faith. He is also survived by his brothers, Frank "Kiko" Salgado and wife Cheryl of Spearman, Texas, and William Salgado and wife Angie of San Antonio, Texas; his sister, Linda Garcia and husband Charlie of Odessa, Texas; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews who brought him endless joy.
Jose worked at Butts Recycling and brought his passion for recycling into his everyday life. Known for his warm smile and infectious spirit, Jose had a gift for making people laugh—whether with his playful jokes, animal noises that delighted children and pets alike, or his referee whistles during football season. He loved his "Frios", good music, dancing, and, above all, being surrounded by his family. His presence lit up every room, and his laughter was often the loudest and most joyful.
