He graduated from Midland High School in 2011 and went to work in the oil field. In 2008, Joshua met the love of his life, Erin Palomino. They had two beautiful daughters, Aniyah and Analee.
Josh cherished the time he spent hanging out with his family and friends. He was a big sports fan, and his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys.
Josh is survived by his wife, Erin; daughters, Aniyah Danielle Lopez and Analee Nicole Lopez. His mother, Lorena Montoya, and stepfather, Miguel Mendoza. Brothers: Martin Ramirez of Midland, Michael Mendoza of Midland and Henry Gomez and wife Brandy of Odessa. Sisters: Yuri Medrano and husband Alfredo, Barbie Gomez and Michelle Gomez and husband David Galindo, all of Midland. Along with nieces Breanna Lozano and Bianca Medrano, both of Midland.
He is preceded in death by his father, Barbaro Gomez; grandmother, Teodora Lira de Castillo; and grandfather, Ezequil Castillo.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 16th at 10:00 a.m. at Ellis Funeral Home followed by graveside committal at Resthaven Memorial Park. Martin Ramirez, Michael Mendoza, Richard Benavidez, Miguel Benavidez, Chris Leyva, Josh Brito, Tony Padilla, Michael Villa will serve as pallbearers. Henry Gomez is an honorary pallbearer.
