Joyce Ann White

She spent most of her life in Midland, Texas, where she built a life centered around family, friendship, laughter, and love. One of the great stories of Joyce’s life began when she was just 16 years old, working behind the soda counter at Walgreens. Raymond Eugene “Bud” White had recently returned home from the Army when he walked into her life. For Joyce and Bud, it was love at first sight.

After a brief courtship, the two began a life together, sharing 32 years of marriage and building a beautiful family. Joyce was the kind of person people simply loved to be around. She had a wonderfully even temper, an easy sense of humor, and a warmth that made people feel comfortable and cared for. She welcomed everyone into her home, often serving holiday meals to dozens of neighbors and friends. She was known for her bright, splashy clothes and, for much of her adult life, her unmistakable bright red hair. She loved cooking, spending time with friends, playing bingo, and somehow became a collector of clowns almost by accident.

More than anything, Joyce loved her family. Her grandchildren will remember her as a wonderful listener who always had a warm hug waiting for them. Joyce is survived by her children, Bill, Colleen, Allen, and Danny; her brother, Tommy; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Raymond Eugene “Bud” White, and by her sisters, Judy and Patty.

Joyce leaves behind a family shaped by the love she and Bud began building all those years ago, and a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, color, kindness, and the unmistakable warmth she gave so freely to the people around her. A memorial service honoring Joyce’s life will be held on August 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park.
