Kathy Stewart

Cleo Katherine “Kathy” Stewart, 95, of Midland, Texas, took her beautiful smile and went to meet her Lord on Wednesday, May 21, 2014. She was born in Vernon, Texas on September 10, 1918 to John and Ida Krebs. Kathy was married to John Stewart o January 1, 1938. They were married 65 years. They moved to Midland, Texas in 1942.

Kathy attended Golf Courses Road Church of Christ ad was a secretary there for 18 years. She also taught cradle roll classes at Golf Course Road for many years. She had been a member at Fairmont Road Church of Christ for the past several years.

She and Johnny enjoyed taking trips with family and friends and they played bridge every chance they could, especially Kathy.

Kathy is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny, and two sisters, Johnnie Mae Harlow and Ann Crites.

Kathy is survived by her son, James Stewart ad wife, Jean of McKinney, Texas, and her daughter, Sondra Freeman and husband, Tommy of Midland, Texas, her brother, Don Krebs and wife, Pat of Smyrna, Georgia. Grandchildren are Tema Counts and husband, Gary of Sherman, Texas, Mike Stewart and wife, Melesa of Sherman, Texas, Kathy Vanpool and husband, Floyd of Rogers, Arkansas, Greg Stewart and wife, Teresa of Allen, Texas, Celeste Pruitt and husband, Allen of Midland, Texas, Stuart Freeman and wife, Jelisa of Shreveport, Louisiana, Tonya Yates and husband, Mark of Missouri City, Texas. Kathy also has many nieces and nephews. There are 17 great-grandchildren and her first great great-grandchild is due in June. She’ll be watching his precious birth from heaven.

Visitation will be May 23, 2014 from %:00pm to 7:00pm at Ellis Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, May 24, 2014 at #:00pm Ellis Funeral Chapel with Tim Baugh officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven North.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Meals On Wheels or Midland Christian School.
