

Lelia M. Cain (Mimi) left this life for her eternal life in Heaven on Thursday, July 28, 2011, after suffering a lengthy illness. Lea was born October 7, 1922 to Archie and Myrtle McNaron in Bristol, Texas. She graduated from Farris High School in Ferris, Texas and moved on to Dallas to attend Mrs. Rutherford’s Women’s College and eventually went to work as Comptroller for the IRS. Lea married Glen P. Cain on June 4, 1950 in Dallas, Texas, and they started their married life in Anaco, Venezuela where Glen worked for Mobile Oil. In 1966, the couple was transferred to Midland with Texaco and Lea went to work at Mid-West Glass as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 1984. After retirement, Lea and Glen spent most of their time traveling and living in Mesa, Arizona during the winters and spending the summers in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Lea was an avid music lover. Whether playing the guitar or singing in her church choir, she loved to dance to country music, as well as, teaching seniors line dancing. Lea is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Glen P. Cain; her parents; a brother, Hollis McNaron; sister, Louise Chavers, and son-in-law, Scott Curry. Lea will be truly missed by her daughters and numerous grandchildren. Lea leaves behind daughters, Rita Curry, Glenna Haskell and husband, Steve; four grandchildren: Michelle Ream and husband, John; Vince Curry; David Haskell and wife, Aubrey; John Haskell and wife, Rebecca; and Brian Wafford. Also left to cherish her memory are ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
