L.J. Kelly, 75, of Canutillo, Texas passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2012. L.J. was born on January 15, 1937 in Lubbock, Texas to Thelma Jobe and Lorenzo Kelly. He joined the army in 1954 and after serving 20 years he retired, April 30, 1974. He married Beverly on March 14, 1981; they enjoyed taking the grandkids to see things and being on the road together every summer, the more the better.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Jane Kelly; his parents and a sister Ella Mae Barton.
Those left behind to honor and cherish his memory are his sons, Wayne and wife Candy Stroud, Roger and wife Shirley Stroud; a daughter, Theresa and husband Johnny Walters. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Ellis Funeral Home, 801 Andrews Highway, Midland, Texas 79701, between the hours of 6:00pm-8:00pm. A graveside service has been scheduled at 1:00pm on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Resthaven Memorial Park.
