Lola Frances Kerr
September 6, 1920 – July 26, 2022

IN THE CARE OF
Ellis Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park
Lola Frances Farnsworth Kerr went to be with our Lord on July 26, 2022. She was born September 6, 1920, in Lipscomb County Texas, out on a farm, where she grew up. After grade school Lola went on to Wayland Baptist University, Howard Payne, and then on to Southwestern Baptist Seminary. She went from there to work at First Baptist Church in Midland, Texas. for several years as the Training Union Coordinator. After she met and married James Kerr she stayed at the church doing volunteer work. Lola and her husband James were avid church goers at First Baptist Church in Midland, Texas and both served in various capacities there. She served in the nursery for over 40 years. She headed up a jewelry class that made jewelry to take on mission trips. She also headed up the group that decorated brown sacks for the Christmas store. She did these for many years.
She was very much into crafts, making things for special occasions or just helping the kids and grandkids with little crafty projects. She also painted. She was like a jack of all trades when it came to crafts. A very crafty lady!
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and a friend to many. She will be missed by all that knew her but has joined her husband and other family members and friends in heaven.
Lola is survived by daughter and son-in-law Kathryn & Pat Cruze of St. Cloud, Minnesota; son Mark Kerr of Houston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law Paul & Lischen Kerr of Hartsville, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James, parents Fred and Bernice Farnsworth, and sisters Naveeta, Marge, Alice, & Ruth, and brothers James, Herbert, William (Bill), & Johnny.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to First Baptist Church, 2104 W. Louisiana Ave, Midland Texas 79701 or Hospice of Midland, 911 W. Texas Ave, Midland, Texas 79701.
