Lorene Faye Brotherton, of Midland, passed away at her home Friday, August 13, 2010. She was born February 26, 1927 in Littlefield, Texas to Amy and Richard T. Stripe. Lorene grew up in Littlefield, and married Robert Al Brotherton at the age of 19. Robert preceded her in death in 1986. Lorene worked many years in the oil and gas industry. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Candy Brotherton; two sisters, Muriel Bridges and Dottie Britton. Lorene is survived by her son, Mark Brotherton, of Midland, Texas; brother, Richard F. Stripe, of Sherman, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Tuesday, August 17, 2010 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 PM. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Tommy Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
