She was born in Kermit, Texas on May 20, 1948 to Charlie and Susie Jones. She married Cecil Thurmond, Sr. on August 19, 1967.
Lynda is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers James and Jerald Jones.
She is survived by her sons Cecil Thurmond, Jr. and Randy Thurmond both of Midland; brother Jimmy Jones of Baird, Texas; sister Wanda Davis of Wickett, Texas; grandchildren Brandi, Kristen, Miranda, Kaci and Justin and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Ellis Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Kermit Cemetery in Kermit, Texas on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 11 am.
