Born on November 8, 1933, in Roscoe, TX, to Ike Boren and Jettie Hammack Boren, Sue grew up with a deep love for family and community. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1952 and spent her professional years as a Secretary, retiring from the City of Midland in 1995.
More than anything else, Sue was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and faithfully served her church family at Wilshire Park Baptist Church in Midland, TX. Over the years, she participated in many a meal train and never said no to helping someone find their next meal. Unwavering faith was the bedrock of her life, and she loved sharing the grace and love of God with everyone she met.
Outside of work and her love for Jesus, Sue cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her servant's heart, and deep devotion to family.
Sue is survived by her children, Marsha Lewter, Steven Savelle and Rachael Giles; grandchildren, Mikah Rhodes, Kurt Lewter, Eli Gray and Breez Smith; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings, Mildred Boren, Shelby Boren and Melody Boren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is reunited in Heaven with her parents, Ike and Jettie Boren, step-mother, Geneva Boren and siblings, Alta Boren, Richard Boren, Oran Kerley and Stephen Boren.
