Margarita Velazquez Ramirez better known to her friends and family as "Ita," 84 of Midland, Texas, passed away on December 22, 2014. Margarita was born in Ojinaga Chihuahua, Mexico on January 15, 1930. She married Eduardo L. Ramirez, the love of her life on October 13, 1951. Margarita started a thriving restaurant named "El Taquito" back in the 1980's along with three of her daughter's Martha Madrid, Bertha Ramirez and Blanca Ramos. A couple of years later she started a new restaurant called Casa Blanca. She had a successful business for over 20 years. It was evident that her true passion was cooking, serving and helping those in need. She was known throughout the community for her generous acts of kindness and love. Margarita always helped those who were less fortunate. She also would cook meals to raise money for those in the community who were struggling financially.
Margarita was a devout Catholic. Her faith was evident in the way she lived her life. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casinos and sewing clothes for her children. Her favorite television show was "The Price is Right." So much in fact, she made it a point not to be interrupted during that time slot. One of the greatest joys in her life was to cook for her entire family on Sunday afternoons. These times together created memories which will be cherished forever and will be missed by each family member.
