Martha Agnes (Hillman) Ross was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ, her Savior, on Ascension Sunday, May 15, 2015. Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse A. Ross, and great-granddaughter, Eloise Catherine Horton.
Born Martha Agnes Schumacher on January 4, 1932 in Hays, Kansas, Martha was raised a faithful Catholic and devout follower of the faith. The Lord blessed Martha with nine beautiful children, five girls and four boys. The children were raised in a Christian home with teachings that embodied the Catholic faith. This foundation strengthened Martha’s heart and provided a path for her children and generations to come. Martha exemplified strength and determination that will be remembered by her children and those who knew her.
In memory of our mother, Martha, words from her Lord, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10:
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Martha’s family wishes to acknowledge and thank Hospice of Midland, especially her caregivers from Jenn’s Gentle Care, Helen, Janie, Bobbie, Sylvia, Josie, and Leti.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her name to Hospice of Midland.
