

Milton Lee Porter, 70, of Midland passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013. He was born on Monday, November 30, 1942 in Pelham, Texas to Robert Lee Porter and Etta Jess McMullan. He served in the Navy from 1962 to 1968. In 1965 he married his sweetheart Jodie Porter. Milton owned his own landscaping business.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry Porter.
Those left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 47 years, Jodie Porter; sons: Julius Watson and wife Audrey of Big Spring, Texas, Kenneth Watson of Midland, Texas, Milton Porter, Jr. of New York, New York and Robert Porter and wife Lillian of Midland, Texas; daughters, Rosie Scott and husband Shawn of Midland, Texas and Pamela Coleman and husband Ceromie of Midland, Texas; brothers, Kenneth Porter and wife Juana of West Covina, California and Leonard Porter and wife Kolisha of Odessa, Texas; sisters, Patricia Porter and Kathy Porter both of Midland, Texas; uncle, J.B. Porter and wife Katherine of Pelham, Texas; aunt, Katherine Thomas of Midland, Texas; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He will lie in state at Ellis funeral home on Friday, March 22, 2013 between the hours of 9:00am till 9:00pm. A funeral service has been scheduled at 1:00pm, Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Greater St. Luke A.M.E., 401 S. Adams, Midland, Texas with Pastor James Greene officiating.
