She was born on November 29, 1932 in Lamesa, Texas to Clifford and Thelma Townsend.
Nelora will be especially remembered for her friendly smile and the way she impacted so many lives in a positive way, she never met a stranger. She loved music, dancing, and shopping. Family always came first and she always gave her unconditional love.
Survivers include her husband, Paul R. Hancock Jr.; sister, Merna Denmark; son, Toby Whipple; daughters, Janaelle Gelledge and Lisa Brooks.
Nelora was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Thelma Townsend; her brother Doyle Townsend; sons, Richard Whipple, Jerry Whipple and Brent Vandervelden.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Ellis Funeral Home in Midland, Texas. Burial will be private.
