Pearlie Mae Fitzgerald Morris a long time resident of Midland, TX passed on May 7th, 2025. She was born February 7. 1929 in Unadilla, Georgia to Daniel and Fannie Mae Fitzgerald. She was the third youngest of their 15 children.
After the passing of her mother, Pearlie along her younger siblings Betty and Ida moved to Midland,TX to live with her eldest sister and her brother in law, Rosa Lee and Ernest Butler. While attending Carver High School, she met her beloved future husband Gene E Morris. They were married on Oct 3, 1945, at the Lee Street Church of Christ by L.H. Alexander, who would go on to be lifelong friends.
From their union, they had four children, Mary Ellen, Jean Evelyn, Mack Danny and DeSharon Louise. And six grandchildren, Anthony Flunder (Urisonya) of Lubbock, Texas; JeMel Edwards of Houston, Texas; Christopher Flunder of Midland, Texas; Charles Williams of Washington, DC; Mack Danny Morris of Houston, Texas; and Amber Morris of Dallas, Texas. And six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Gene, all 14 of her sisters and brothers,three of her children and one great grandchild. Her surviving daughter Jean Evelyn never left her side, not even for a day for the last 9 years.
Pearlie Mae was a faithful member of the Lee Street Church of Christ. She was an amazing cook, loved traveling all over the United States but most importantly she loved and doted on her family.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Ellis Funeral Home followed by graveside committal at Resthaven Memorial Park.
