She met and married the love of her life, Carl Edmond Speight on June 5, 1952, who was serving in the Air Force at the time. She was a devoted mother to her five children and spent much of her time with them at their various activities, which included various team sports and being a Den Mother for Cub Scouts. Phyllis loved to read, watch high school, college and professional football and was an avid Republican. Throughout her lifetime in Midland, she was active in many organizations; such as the Petroleum Engineers Wives Club, Midland Republican Women’s Club and a member of the Ladies Association at Midland County Club. She treasured each of her friends in the Keystone Sunday School Class at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
She was a great woman of faith who always put the Lord and her family first. She will be greatly missed.
