Robert P. "Pops" Gomez Sr.

Robert Pacheco Gomez, 64, of Midland passed away at his home October 22, 2013 in Midland. He was born November 18, 1948 to Manuel and Rita Gomez in Fort Stockton. He graduated from Ector High School in 1968. He was employed as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 36 years.

He loved spending time with family and friends. He was the first Hispanic senior class president at Ector High School. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, very devoted letter carrier, loving Father and Grandpa, Brother, Son, and role model.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Daniel Gomez, Reymundo Gomez and sister, Margie Baker.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Elsa, his sons, Nathan and wife Gloria Gomez, Robert and wife Britney Gomez, nephew, Eli Anaya that he raised as his son, brothers, Joel Gomez, Bart Gomez, Sammy Gomez, Julian Gomez, Reynaldo Gomez and Ventura Gomez, Rachel Romero, Janet Gomez, and Virginia Garcia, three grandsons, Izayah, Evan, and Nathan Gomez, three granddaughters, Ayanna, Alexis, and Meagan Gomez.

Family will receive friends from 8am-9pm Friday, October 25, 2013 at Ellis Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be 2pm Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Brother Bob Porterfield officiating.
