Ruby Van Stavern

She was Salutatorian of her class at Big Spring High School, attended South Plains College and Texas Tech University. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. Ruby was married to Earl Van Stavern for 64 years. She and her only sister Dorothy married twin brothers Earl and Mearl Van Stavern. The couples had two sons, each the same ages.

Ruby practiced public accounting in Levelland for 47 years. After moving to Midland, she continued accounting and tax work for Van Stavern Interiors until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ima and Albert Hise, sister Dorothy Van Stavern and husband Earl Van Stavern.

She is survived by her son Larry Van Stavern of Dallas; James Van Stavern and wife Debbie of Midland; grandchildren Blade Van Stavern and wife Ashley of Midland; Lauren Van Stavern Wall and husband Matt of Midland; great grandchildren Isabella and Halston Van Stavern and Everett Wall of Midland. Also surviving are two special nephews, Robbie Van Stavern and his wife Emily of Keller, Texas; and Monte Van Stavern and his wife Gayle of Austin, Texas; as well as many numerous great nieces and nephews.

Service will be at Friday, June 24, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Golf Course Rd. Church of Christ. Family will receive friends on Thursday at 6:00 -8:00 PM.
