For 58 years, Santiago dedicated himself to the craft of masonry, a trade he truly loved. His hands helped build not just walls, but the foundations of homes, communities, and the life he cherished. Even after retiring, his passion for shaping and creating never waned.
Born to Refugio (Mendez) and Ricardo Arzavala, Santiago inherited his parents' deep Catholic faith, which remained a guiding light throughout his life. He found immense joy in the outdoors—gardening, caring for his grass, camping, and fishing were among his favorite pastimes. Holidays were especially meaningful to him, and he poured love into every dish he cooked and baked for his family. He was the heart of every celebration.
In 1999, Santiago met the love of his life, Diana, at a dance in Mexico. They married in 2000 and shared a deep and enduring bond built on faith, laughter, and mutual respect.
Santiago is survived by his beloved wife, Diana C. Arzavala; his sons, Santiago Arzavala Jr. and Tony Marquez and wife Veronica; his daughters, Kathlene Arzavala and Jonathan Rodriguez, and Kathren Gonzalez and husband Adan; and six cherished grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Refugio and Ricardo.
He will be remembered not only for the structures he built, but for the strength, kindness, and warmth he offered to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
