Severo Enriquez of Midland, TX passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023 at the age of 73. He was born on January 21, 1950 in Ozona, TX.
Over the years, he worked as a delivery driver for Borden’s, owned his own movie rental store and pool hall, and was a car salesman for Rogers Ford until he retired in 2019.
He served as an usher for St Stephen’s Catholic Church for many years and was actively involved as a Guadalupano for Our Lady of Guadalupe church and loved praying the rosary for those in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Elisa Enriquez; his wife Olga Enriquez; his son, Severo Enriquez; his sisters Connie Martinez and Mary Rodriguez; and his brothers, Ted Enriquez, Dan Enriquez, Jerry Enriquez, Sam Enriquez, George Enriquez, and Bobby Enriquez.
He is survived by his spouse Blanca Enriquez; brothers Manuel Enriquez and Alfred Enriquez; daughters Margaret Pester, Letty Johnson, and Rosie Enriquez; grandchildren Julia Wolf and husband John, Olivia Pester, Tavi Hubbard, Ty Johnson, Niya Johnson, Leroy Johnson, Jr, Hailey Porras, and Zoe Porras; Sons-in-law Robert Pester, Jr, Leroy Johnson, and Jose Porras and many, many, many other family and friends.
Severo always wanted to put everything he had into everything he did. He always wanted to make it memorable. He loved to play golf and he hated it when he could no longer play like wanted because of his health. He loved all his poker buddies and the time spent winning all their money. Severo was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Midland High Bulldog fan. He loved going to football and basketball games. He and Olga had season tickets and would attend every game even if they didn’t have any kids or grandkids playing in the band or playing football. He took an active interest with the Grief Share program at Our Lady of Guadalupe after his wife Olga passed away. He was able to meet a lot of great people that helped him. Anyone that knew Severo, knew that he would always be there anytime you needed him.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Severo on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 4-8 PM at Ellis Funeral Home with the Rosary at 7 PM. Please also join Severo’s family for a Celebration of Life at Our Lady of Guadalupe on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 1 PM.
Interment to follow at St. Ann’s Church at a later date.
