She graduated from Tallulah High School and went on to attend Midland College. She received her LVN and worked at Medical Arts Hospital. Sherry met and married Carl Bowman Nicholson and they remained a loving couple until his death in 1995.
Sherry had a soft spot for her furry friends, Benny and Modach. She enjoyed talking on the phone to her family, playing on her computer, gardening, traveling to Las Vegas, and “winning” Phase 10. Most of all, Sherry loved to be with her family and especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren.
Sherry will always be remembered for her warm heart and her loving spirit. We’ll always imagine hearing her say “did you hear me” one more time. Her memory will live on in all those who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Bowman Nicholson; father, David Albert Harris; mother, Georgia Maybell Dilts; brother, Willard Harris; sister, Linda Arnold; and grandchildren, Kali Baze and Paul Friday.
Sherry is survived by her son, Carl Wesley Bowman Nicholson of Midland; daughters, Paula Friday of Espyville, PA, Carla Nicholson of Midland, Rhonda Elliott and husband Tracy of Midland, Teanna Nicholson and husband Jeff Baze of Mexia, Jeanna Nicholson and husband Randy Spinks of Mexia, and Tanya Pruitt of Stanton; brothers, Joe Dilts, Jr. and John Wayne Harris, both of Midland; sister, Inez Allen of Midland; and eight grandchildren, Carl Wayne, David, Kymberly, Elizabeth, April, Amber, Skylar and Bailey.
