He enlisted in the Army in 1945 and honorably served during World War II. He attended bootcamp in San Diego, CA and served overseas as a Rifleman and Guard Patrolman where he guarded ammunition. Sidronio married Beatrice Heredia on October 13, 1950. They were married for 70 years when she passed away in 2021. He loved being on the family ranch and enjoyed anything to do with family.
Sidronio was an avid sports fan. He played baseball in his younger years, enjoyed football, fishing and hunting. He was a good golfer and became really great at bowling. His favorite "sport" recently was gambling and if he couldn't be found he was most likely in a corner somewhere with his beloved scratch offs.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice; parents Gorgonio and Gomecinda Madrid; son, Rudy H. Madrid; grandson, Johnny Rene Madrid; brothers, Fernando, Ray, Henry and Luis Madrid; and sisters, Maria Aguilar, Andrea Vargas, Licha Quiroz and Juanita Madrid.
Sidronio is survived by his son, Rene Madrid and wife Susan of Sumner; daughter, Diane Elfert of Covington, LA; brother, Robert Madrid; nine grandchildren: Steven, John, Michael, Shannon, Nathan, Jessica, Adina, Mark and Mary; and 16 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, September 29, 2023 from 10-11:30 AM at Ellis Funeral Home. The Rosary will begin at 11:30 and funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM (Noon) in the chapel. Burial with military honors will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Gabriel Schumann, Mark Elfert, Carlos Madrid and Ray Madrid will serve as pallbearers.
