Stacey was born on February 1, 1961, in Redding, California, to William Carroll Bryant Vaughn and Xenoclea Ladene Parkinson Vaughn. She grew up in Trinity County, and went to Coffee Creek Elementary School in Coffee Creek, and graduated from Trinity High School in June 1979. She received her certificate from Shasta Trinity Regional Occupation Program in 1993 as a Certified Nurses Assistant. She married the love of her life, William Joe Martin, on September 28, 1982. To this happy union were born three daughters, Marina, Jessi and Kayla, and was blessed with eleven grandchildren and two in heaven.
She lived the words, “Never give up on love.” She obeyed the teachings of the Bible that marriage is a lifelong covenant not to be broken, emphasizing what God has joined together, no human should separate.
She spent many years dedicating her life to serving others. In addition to working as a Certified Nurses Assistant, she worked as a teacher in day care, and her specialty was caring for infants. She was known as Lunesta to all the little ones in her care. She also served as dietitian, and the children's faces brightened when they saw her.
Stacey raised her girls to be strong and faithful, just as she was brought up. She served the Lord with gladness and lived an honorable life, one well-lived. Her grandchildren called her Nana, and they are the jewels in her crown today.
Those preceding her in death are her parents, William Carrol Bryant Vaughn and Xenoclea Parkinson Vaughn, two siblings, Briggs Vaughn and Louise Westgate and two grandchildren.
Remaining to cherish her memory are, her loving husband Joe Martin, daughters Marina Wood (Lyle), Jessi Coyle (Zach) and Kayla Wilson (Phillip); grandchildren Taylor Kelly, Justice Kelly, Trinity Kelly, John Kelly, Connor O’Rourke, Cody O’Rourke, Zenoclea Coyle, Zane Coyle, Austin Wilson, Kydence Wilson and Logan Wilson.
