Tychicus Lon Roberson II, lovingly known as Ty, passed away unexpectedly on May 12, 2026, at the age of 30. Ty was born on October 18, 1995, in Midland, Texas. He attended Midland Christian School his entire life and graduated in 2014. From an early age, he possessed a remarkable curiosity and an insatiable desire to understand how things worked. He was intelligent, analytical, witty, and fiercely independent. He approached life with an open mind and a relentless determination to learn, question, and discover.
Ty worked as an ASIC Repair Tech III for Exacore LLC in Midland, where his technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and work ethic earned the respect of those around him. He had a unique gift for diagnosing problems, understanding complex systems, and finding solutions where others saw obstacles.
To those who knew him best, Ty was much more than a technician. He was a lifelong student of the world. He loved reading books, researching new topics, debating ideas, and diving deep into subjects that captured his interest. Whether he was studying technology, history, genealogy, science, finance, or simply chasing an interesting question, he approached every topic with enthusiasm and determination. He especially loved trivia and had an incredible ability to recall facts, details, and information that amazed family and friends alike.
Ty was not someone who accepted easy answers. He wanted to understand the “why” behind everything. His curiosity led him to explore countless subjects and challenge conventional thinking. He valued honesty, evidence, and authentic conversation. He was quick-witted, often hilarious, and never afraid to speak his mind. Beneath that sharp intellect was a loyal friend, a devoted son, a loving brother, an incredible uncle and someone who cared deeply for the people fortunate enough to know him.
One quote that beautifully reflects Ty’s lifelong pursuit of knowledge reads:
“The more I read, the more I acquire, the more certain I am that I know nothing.” — Voltaire
Those words resonated with Ty because he understood that learning never truly ends. The more he discovered, the more he realized there was still left to explore.
Above all else, Ty cherished the people in his life. He loved spending time with family and friends, sharing stories, exchanging ideas, making people laugh, and building connections that lasted a lifetime. He leaves behind countless memories that will continue to bring smiles to those who loved him.
Ty is survived by his mother, Tammy Sue Roberson; his sisters, Christy Sue Pullen and Rebecca Rose Oldham; his brothers-in-law, Brian Keith Pullen, Christopher Michael Knight, and Matthew Jordan Pruitt; his nephews, Julius Ryan Kade Pullen and Tychicus Lorea Kason Pullen; his niece, Lillian Recker Rose Knight (Lilli); his beloved girlfriend, Lisa Faulkner of Phoenix, Arizona; his closest and dearest friend, Ava Marie Evans; his beloved dog, Kitty; and numerous nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, coworkers, extended family members, and friends whose lives were forever enriched by knowing him.
