Wanda Burleson

Wanda Lee Burleson, 73, of Midland, Texas passed from her earthly body on February 22, 2017.

There will be a visitation on Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Home Midland, Texas. A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas. The Reverend and longtime family friend, Brother Ronnie Newton will be officiating.

Wanda was born into the family of Robert (Papa) and Lucille (Nanny) Burns on October 2, 1943 in Grand Prairie, Texas. She married the “Love of Her Life’ Billy Burleson on April 3, 1964 in Odessa, Texas. They were happily married for 31 years.

Later in life God sent mom a true companion and confidant, Freddy Thomason. Their friendship and love for each other blossomed over the last 20 years. Freddy, the Burleson family has grown to love you and consider you every bit a part of the family as any. We cannot thank you enough for the friendship, love and compassion you have provided for our mother. We love you.

Wanda is survived by her loving big brother, Bobby Burns and wife Barbara of Odessa, Texas; son Jerry Burleson and wife Gayle of Midland, Texas; daughter, Leslie Burleson of Midland, Texas; five grandsons, Cory Burleson, and wife Julie, Bryant Burleson, Justin Walker and wife Ashley, Billy Walker and Blake Walker and many nieces and nephews.
