Wendell was born September 1, 1930 in Van Horn, Texas to Claude and Vesta Mayo.
He is survived by his wife, Irma Mayo; son, Greg Mayo and wife Cyndi; daughter, Cheryl McCall and husband Walter; brother, Charles Mayo and wife Pearl; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Ellis Funeral Home between the hours of 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral service has been scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 23, 2011 in the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mark Lindsey of the First Baptist Church of Big Spring officiating.
