Anita Louise Mancini

July 12, 1937May 13, 2014

MANCINI, Anita Louise, 76, of Richmond, passed away on May 13, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born in Malden, Massachusetts on July 12, 1937, the daughter of Harold and Kathleen Ruelle. She graduated from Malden High School, where as cheerleading captain she met her sweetheart, football captain George Mancini, whom she married on June 14, 1958, and with whom she had five children. In 1970, the family settled in Richmond, where Anita first worked at Overnight Transportation company before segueing to a 25-year career as a medical records analyst at St. Mary's, where she treasured the friendships of her colleagues. She is survived by children Michelle, Denise, Don, Jinx, and Kristin, and grandchildren Christopher and Sonny Tripp, Izzy and Tilly List, and Hayden Wyatt. Anita cherished spending time with her family and friends, enjoyed playing bingo and watching horse racing, and loved old movies. During her final hours, her favorite station, Turner Classic Movies, was playing softly in the background; when she passed, the title of the film playing, appropriately enough for this endearing woman, was "Easy to Love." A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 2700 Dolfield Drive. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Anita's name to the American Cancer Society.

Anita, I will always remember your laugh and smile. You were one of a kind my heart breaks to hear this news but knowing you get to see George again makes me very happy. When my mom brought me to medical records that first time I was a kid and would have never of thought what a great community it would have been for everyone there. Thank you for being you.
Love you!

I'm out of the blue as you don't know me but I did know your mother and father. I lived in Malden and graduated Malden HS in 1952. Your dad lived only a few blocks away and was chums with my brother Bruce. And I remember all the Ruelles from Maplewood as Paul Sr. married my sister Mary. Paul Jr. is my nephew. My blessings are with you all and I wish you peace and comfort during these days.

I am a very lucky person to have been able to spend time with Anita the Friday before her passing. We had a great visit and I was able to give her a hug, kissed her cheek and told her I loved her. I was so blessed to have had that time and opportunity.

My sincere condolences to the family.

There is a lonesomeness after the death of one's mother, and I want you to know that your friends are thinking of you and sympathizing with you in this time of your great loss.

I will never forget the friendliness and kindness your mother extended to me over the past 30 years. She was loved and admired by all who knew her.

With love,

My thoughts and hope for comfort are with all the Mancini children and your families. I knew Anita and your Dad since the move to Richmond to work for A.H. Robins. She was a special lady who kindly helped me navigate difficult waters re medical records despite obstacles placed in her path.
