Anna Christine Huffman

Born on January 3, 1947, in Greensboro, North Carolina, Chris was the daughter of the late Belvin A. Huffman and the late Carlene C. Huffman. She was also preceded in death by her brother, B. Allen Huffman.

Chris was a lifelong lover of books, art, and creativity. She attended Madison College, now James Madison University, before earning her degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her career in the book and publishing industry took her across the country, including New York, Texas, and Tennessee, most notably with Cokesbury. She eventually returned to Richmond where she fulfilled her entrepreneurial dream as owner of Chris Huffman Books, Inc. on Main Street.

Chris's professional journey evolved into a second career in advertising with the Richmond Times-Dispatch and later in luxury retail, where she worked with J. Taylor Hogan, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Nordstrom. She had a remarkable artistic eye and flourished in endeavors that required imagination and design, from award-winning storefront displays to traditional artistic pursuits.

Chris is survived by her partner, John R. Hebberd; her sister-in-law, Lara S. Huffman; her nephew, Jason A. Huffman (Ashley); her niece, Carrie Huffman Romano (Joe); and her great-nephews and great-niece, Cooper, Andrew, Eliza, and Oliver, all of whom brought her great joy.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers of St. Mary's ICU and IMCU, as well as Chapters Hospice, for the exceptional compassion and care they provided during Chris's final days.

A private burial will be held at Hollywood Cemetery.
