Beverly Curless Titus

Beverly C. Titus, 95, of Richmond, VA, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, after a brief stay at New Hope Care Home in eastern Richmond.

She was the wife of the late James W. (Bill) Titus, who passed away on June 16, 2004; soon after they had celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Born in Beloit, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Dr Grant R. Curless and Rachel K. Curless. After graduating from Centennial High School in Pueblo, CO, she attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs and graduated from University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. While working as a medical technician in a San Diego hospital, Beverly met her future husband Bill, who was stationed with the U.S. Navy on Coronado Island, California.

Following years of IBM job transfers and being a dedicated stay-at-home mom, Beverly was employed as a real estate sales agent in the Endicott, NY area, in the 1980’s, until moving to Midlothian, VA. She and her husband Bill built their future home, as he approached retirement with IBM.

Her lifelong passion was to spend time with her family, and to experience other cultures through travel. They lived in Albuquerque NM, El Paso, TX, Endwell, NY, and Otterbourne, Hampshire in England. She and her husband traveled throughout North America, to the Far East, Russia, South Africa, Australia, Europe, Israel and South America. Her love of the outdoors was apparent when recalling her summers as a child with grandparents on Lake Geneva, WI and spent 30 summers at Bev & Bill’s cottage, “Loon’s Landings” on Big Gull Lake in Ontario, Canada.

They were long-time members of the United Methodist and Presbyterian churches in Endwell, NY. At Salisbury Presbyterian Church in Midlothian, Beverly was active on many committees. They were proud to be inaugural volunteers of the outdoor Christmas Yard Angel Project and the Memorial Garden. Beverly also volunteered her time with Meals-on-Wheels. In her later years, Beverly enjoyed listening to Dr. Jim Somerville’s televised sermons from the First Baptist Church of Richmond.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Ellen Rosen and husband Alex Rosen of Raleigh NC, grandchildren Adam Rosen and wife Michelle (Klaiman) Rosen of Fairfax, VA, great granddaughters Isla Wren Rosen and Nora Andi Rosen; granddaughter Kate Rosen Marvin and husband James Marvin of Waynesboro, PA and great grandchildren Annabelle Lozada Marvin, Maya Grace Marvin, and Jameson Paul Marvin. Also, son Jeffrey Titus and wife Valerie Titus of Allentown, PA, granddaughter Dr Kayla Titus and husband Greg LaLuna of Newtown Square, PA and great granddaughter Phoebe Hazel LaLuna; and grandson Steven Titus and wife Caroline Titus of Newport News, VA and great grandsons Walter Russell Titus & Arthur Gene Titus. Also her brother, Dr. Richard Curless and wife Joan Curless of Santa Fe, NM, and Richard’s children, Christian & Lynn Curless, Ann Curless Weiss & Christopher Weiss, Brian & Jelena Curless, and Laura Curless Fisher & Fred Fisher, and their families.

Beverly’s memorial service will be held on October 3, at 11am at Salisbury Presbyterian Church Midlothian, VA. A small reception will follow at the church.
