Clayton Lawrence Townes

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Paris and Glady, and his sisters, Helen and Joyce.

He is survived by his wife, Genara; sons, O'Neil,Bryan, Foster, and Jerome; daughter, Abigail; his brothers, Payton and Paris; his daughter-in-law, Alexis Diane; and his grandchildren, Markel, Zaysia, Sophie, Charlie, Gino, Nathan, Philip, Roman, Rebecca and Felicity.

Clayton will be remembered as a devoted family man—hard-working, outgoing, generous in spirit, and kind-hearted. He carried a protective, selfless devotion to those he loved, always ready to do whatever he could to support and care for them.

Becoming a grandfather brought Clayton tremendous joy, and he treasured the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren. Those moments reflected the warmth and sincerity that defined him, along with an easy humor and an outgoing nature that made time together feel bright and full.

Clayton embraced life with energy and appreciation for simple pleasures. He loved the beach and enjoyed action movies, and he found particular happiness in travel—especially his trips to the philippines. In the kitchen, his care for others often took the form of familiar favorites, including mac and cheese and beef stew.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A Celebration of Clayton's Life will be held at Woody Funeral Home- Huguenot Chapel on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for prayers.
