Clyde Powell Mitchell Jr.

Born on January 27, 1942 in Lynchburg, Virginia, Bud was a devoted husband to Dale Mitchell; father to Amy Mitchell Boothe (Tom), Rick Groome (Donna), and Melanie Mitchell Bradley (Scott); brother to Chris (Lenora) and Dale (David); and grandfather to numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by Clyde Powell Mitchell Senior (father); Christine Henderson Mitchell (mother); David Willard Groome (son); and Michael David Mitchell (son).

Bud served in the United States Air Force, and fought in the Vietnam War. He was very proud to have served his country. Afterward, he got his college education from VCU where he majored in music. His time in the service as a MP lead to him to a career in law enforcement, and security. He retired from the Department of Corrections for the state of Virginia.

In his retirement, Bud found joy in playing golf, bowling, going on cruises and beach vacations, playing the piano, singing, and spending time with his loved ones.
