Daphne Lou Rose

Daphne was born on May 20, 1936, to Bernice Barry of Shady Valley, TN. As an adolescent she relocated to Plainsboro, NJ and lived with her mother and stepfather Herbert D. Wright. She met her loving husband of 67 years, Charles G. Rose of Plainsboro, NJ.

They settled in the Trenton area where they raised four children. Daphne worked in retail for most of her career. Following retirement, they relocated to Richmond, VA to be close to their grandchildren. Relocation to Anderson, SC followed in 2013.

Daphne loved board games, playing cards, working puzzles and never missed Wheel of Fortune. She crocheted and quilted most of her life and she loved her gardening and flowers.

Daphne and Charles were devout Christians spending mornings in devotion. She was a lifelong active member of the Church of Christ in Trenton and Princeton, NJ, Richmond, VA and Anderson, SC.

Daphne was predeceased by her parents; husband Charles; son Charles Michael; and sister Kaye Powell.

She is survived by sons James Rose, DPM (Parrish) of Anderson, SC and Robert Rose (Rebecca) of Richmond, VA; daughter Sandy Rose of Anderson, SC; daughter-in-law Paula Rose of Mechanicsville, VA; sisters Lucille Durden; Linda Moore; and Raye Thompson; brother Kent Wright (Sherry); close cousin Craig Barry (Donna); six granddaughters, Holly, Carlee, Christine, Chelsea, Heather and Courtney; 8 great grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, September 25 at Westhampton Memorial Park in Richmond, VA.
