Seth used to ride with his girlfriend Sherry(my aunt), to Bush Park Camping Resort, in Deltaville, for about a weekend at a time. As the summer nights went on, friends and family would gather in large groups around the campfire to listen to Seth play his guitar and sing for us. Bringing us to tears and bringing us all closer together. Seth was very very much family to me. He will be forever missed. Him and I always had a special connection, he always knew what to say to make me laugh, we connected in the ways of the south and in the ways of NASCAR. I appreciate every little thing he's done for me. I also remember one morning after I had spent the night at his house with my cousin, I had gotten my first nosebleed and it was bad. He knew exactly what to do, he helped me. As well as growing up and now being a teenage girl I had boy issues. I was hurting a lot from my first boyfriend who Seth had grown to like. He hugged me tight when I was crying and kissed my forehead, telling me that it was going to be okay, and for once. I believed it. I am going to miss him forever. He was a incredible man.

Once you met Seth you knew you had a friend for life.  Seth worked with our family business Spence's Pest Control for several years.  It's  always a shock when you see a young man pass in his prime. Cooter, Seth we know you are looking down and smiling at us as we try to write a family friendly message to you and your family.  I know you and your Dad are catching up on all the memories you have to share.

Seth moved in 6 months after I did and we were neighbors I could sit on my porch and see the back of his house. When I got divorced, that's when we really became friends. He had done alot for me, since I'm a singal woman and living alone. He was like my brother. He love my animals. when I would have yo go to ohio to see my mommy he always took care of my animals for me, and never wanted anything in return.  When he lost flash, his dog. That liked to have killed him. 2 months ago I had to put my Frankie down and he came over to my house and we just held each other and cried. When I got married to Joe, seth and joe became really good friends. When we would go places we always asked him to go, and sometimes he would and sometimes he wouldn't. Now as I sit on my porch and see the back of his house it's really hard to look over there. If I was sitting on the porch and he came home from work he always waved and asked me about my day, then I'd ask him about his. Seth iam sure going to miss you cooter, joe and I both are going to miss you terribly and so is pooky. God Speed my friend, we love and miss you buddy, thank you for everything you did for me and joe. Love you my brother.

I am so sad to hear this.  Our deepest sympathy to Bev and the Spivey family.  Seth and I had many talks over the past two years about his Dad.  He missed him deeply.  Please know that we are interceding for the family and pray that our awesome Savior and Peace Speaker will provide comfort and strength during this time.  God bless,

I have too many great memories of Sethro.  But one that we most recently talked about, is the day that we met. My brother had brought him over to our house on Hensley Road, he was supposed to be helping Allen with his car. But instead he sat in the house talking to me the whole time while Allen worked on his car alone. From that day forward we were connected. 33 years later, here we are we said. He said God planned that. Now he knows why. I know why too. Always knew. I always was and will always be your "Get me" girl.  That will never change. I miss you and fly high, Doo.

One weekend our junior or senior yr of HS Seth was in his Mustang and me in my VW bug both of us heading to our homes. A few days previous to this night Seth had helped me take the original steering wheel off and a custom one in its place. My Dad was already frustrated with me being late and with every fabricated excuse I could conjure. On the way home, fortunately with Seth behind me due to the same route, the steering wheel was turning but without turning the front wheels. Thankfully the car was aimed at the Crown gas station parking lot. Seth always carried tools in his trunk so he was able to fix the problem. But what else he did is only what a good friend would do. He took the pay phone receiver from me while I was talking to my Dad and explained the mechanics of what happened and I was indeed telling the truth. Obviously he was convincing because my Dad said no more about it. Naturally Seth and I laughed until tears were in our eyes all the while he was fixing the steering wheel.
